This project kicked off in 2023 and took about a year to complete—but it was absolutely worth every second. From the start, we knew this home had potential, and watching it transform into something warm, inviting, and functional has been so rewarding.

The exterior was a fun challenge, with original brick that we chose to paint in Sherwin Williams Muddled Basil—a color outside my usual picks, but one that ended up adding such a cozy and comforting feel. Paired with Early American-stained wood accents on the front door and porch columns, this home now has some serious curb appeal!

Inside, we made the floor plan flow better by opening up the kitchen and dining area—making it more spacious and perfect for entertaining. And we didn’t stop there—we turned a small half bath on the main floor into a full bathroom, giving the house more functionality for everyday living.

Before we got started, the exterior had its original brick and plenty of character—but it was ready for a refresh! Here’s a look at the home in its original state before we added new paint, siding, and those warm wood accents.

Before we started, the interior reflected the home’s age with a more closed-off layout and outdated finishes. The kitchen and dining areas felt tight, and the downstairs bath was just a half bath. Here’s a look inside before we opened up the spaces and gave this home a fresh, functional update.

The inside of this home got a major refresh! We opened up the kitchen and dining area to create a more spacious, flowing layout—perfect for entertaining. We also transformed the downstairs half bath into a full bathroom, adding even more function and value. Every room now feels brighter, more open, and ready for modern living!

Upstairs: Keeping the Charm

All the main bedrooms were already located upstairs, which is typical for an older home. We focused on preserving that original layout while giving the spaces fresh updates and a more cohesive, modern feel—perfectly blending old and new.
